Google: cars driven by themselves
Let’s meet Google Car; better than the car without licence, the car without pilot!
As Google CEO Eric Schmidt says, “it’s a mistake that cars were invented before computers”. People’s cars should drive by itself (without having you driving it), it’s logical. During Paris Auto Show 2010, Google announced that several Toyota Prius (and one Audi TT) had already traveled 220 000km secretly driving by themselves in California.
With that mind, Google’s will is to improve people’s safety while travelling, improve energy savings and make the people able to do something constructive while driving. The New York Times says this technology, made from sensors located on the roof of the car, will take approximately eight years to be implemented on the market.
